The Cookie Jar is Full !

So yummy yummy
While in my tummy
But chocolate chips
End up on my hips

End up on my hips
Those naughty chips
I'll have to excercise
And try to be wise

And try to be wise
Avoiding tasty fries
Apple pies with cream
Diets make me scream

Diets make me scream
Such a tedious regime
Shedding chocolate chips
Off my expanding hips

Here's my version of  Chocolate Chip Cookies
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 4 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 Bitter-sweet Chocolate chips-I use Ghirardelli  http://www.ghirardelli.com/
  • 1 cup Walnuts chopped very fine into a powder. I use a my hand held immersion blender attachment to quickly chop up the walnuts

Directions: pre heat oven to 375F/190.56C
Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat melted butter, sugars and vanilla in a large bowl until creamy. ( I just use a fork ). Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition ( I'm still using a fork ). Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips and chopped walnuts. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.
( I use parchment paper ).
Bake for 9-11 minutes or until golden brown.  Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes and transfer to wire racks to cool completely. Yields approximately 5 dozen cookies.
These cookies can be enjoyed with a nice glass of milk or even a glass of red wine.

  2. I am going to print that off as they sound delicious but I can't make them until I am having company over. Have I ever mentioned my complete lack of will-power. I have zilch...nada...none. They would be gone in less than two days.
