Does anyone know a word

Feline Friday and A to Z Challenge Y is for Yodeling Cats! April 29, 2016

Y is for Yodeling Cats!

We have never practiced yodeling with any of our cats, probably because we are not highly skilled engineers. We just stand back and admire our friendly cats!

A to Z Challenge and Wordless Wednesday April 27, 2016

W is for Wednesday!
And for Wallaby!
(Photos and story thanks to the internet)

It has often been said that “elephants never forget,” but they are not the only animals who have that unique ability. In fact, most, if not all, animals have the ability to remember us and that also includes any kindness that we may have shown them. That fact is clearly demonstrated in what took place with this grateful wallaby.
When you look at the following pictures, provided by someone who has helped raise wallabies for over six years in Australia, you can really get a feeling for what this lovely animal was thinking. This kind woman helped to raise this orphaned wallaby, who has now come back to see her with a baby. Her name is Mirabooka and she was orphaned at only five months old after her mother was killed by an automobile. This inspirational woman raised the wallaby along with some foster brothers until she could care for herself.

Even now, the wallaby comes back to visit quite frequently and when she arrives, she even knocks on the door! Obviously, this wallaby is not only kind, she has manners as well. There came a time, however, when Mirabooka did not come back for a few weeks but soon she arrived with a new boyfriend and then, with a baby!

You can read more of her story at this LINK.
Enjoy your day and I'll see you tomorrow!

A to Z Challenge V is for Verdant April 25, 2016

My walk to a verdant park.

Yesterday I took a walk in downtown
Lake Oswego. Past a huge hole in the ground
that evidently will have about 200 units above
ground floor retail. It's a contentious project since the off street below ground parking only allows parking for 150 cars.

Walking past that construction I met up
with Mr and Mrs Mallard...

such cuties and looking for a hand out...

we had a nice chat and I apologized for not having any duck food. Walking further I came to a little park alongside the lake spotting some yellow iris .

I do miss the verdant greens
of the rainy Pacific Northwest.
And then ahah!

Baby Canada geese and
two protective mothers!

I watched their attentive encouragement...

hustling the little goslings towards the water

and away from me...

and I listened to their sweet songs...

and watched their little tails wag
back and forth as they swam away...

This last image is a interesting sculpture
at another park by the lake....
Have a super day and I'll see you tomorrow!

We're up in "sunny" Portland
enjoying the "liquid sunshine"
and verdant green that is prevalent
here because of all the soft rain!
Enjoy today and I'll see you tomorrow!

Feline Friday and A to Z Challenge April 22, 2016

S is for Sorta Sick....

Both of us have caught some sort of nasty
cold germ...most likely while flying home.
Lucy thinks she should be wearing a mask
like this cat has. I told her she was being
a bit obsessive. Have a great day
and I will definitely see you tomorrow!

Wordless Wednesday April 20, 2016

When we got home a few days back from our vacation we saw that our Orchid Cactus had bloomed! This plant was started from Russell's Grandma Bebe's plant some years back.

It has bloomed only once before so it's exciting to see it bloom once again. I think it might be all the sun we get here as opposed to the light we got when living near Portland Oregon.

It's quite exotic looking!
Have a great day!
