I love artichokes! I have a couple in the kitchen right now. ☺
ReplyDeleteYou know, I've often wondered that very thing: Who was the brave one to try them first?
Have a happy Monday! See you tomorrow. ☺
Dana- after writing this post I am off to the store to get a few artichokes! Cheers!
ReplyDeleteI have often wondered the same thing!
ReplyDeleteI take one too. I love them very much, especially with that garlic butter. Yummy.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day. :)
Yummy!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit to Flat Stanley. I've tried...sorta unsuccessfully to good artichokes. Read somewhere they needed to be soaked in water for at least an hour before cooking. We saw on tv how you can cut them in half oil and salt or garlic and put them right on the grill. They didn't come out well. Can you shead some light on how you did yours?
ReplyDeletemy other a-z challenge
Wonderful praise for the artichoke.
ReplyDeleteNo problem on the rant. It's your land not hers! I had prickly pear marqueritas few years back while in Arizona...they were good.
ReplyDeletehungry?
Artichokes are best when prepared by someone else -- so now i'll have to go get one!;)
ReplyDeleteI've never had an artichoke - is that wrong??
ReplyDeleteI'm sure glad someone figured it out re artichokes - they are delish!

Haven't tasted this vegetable yet, but you make it sound appealing .
ReplyDeleteFood haiku! That's brilliant! I tend to be a traditionalist and keep to the one season motif, but this is such a cool idea I'll have to try it.
ReplyDeleteHigh five to my fellow A to Z-er!
I've only had them in dip - they're really good that way!
ReplyDeleteI also have never had an artichoke and was actually quite surprised to see what they look like flowering. My only thought is that someone somewhere was awfully hungry once upon a time to try it...
ReplyDeleteDear #1430: This sounds like a really fun challenge. I love artichokes and you have reminded me to try to find some to plant this year. I saw some at Wilco Farm Stores a few years ago and have wanted to try to grow some ever since.
ReplyDeleteFabulous shots there - and what a great question.
ReplyDeleteWho indeed?
I looked up the A - Z Challenge, I did a couple a while back and think I have exhausted my creative juices.
Artichokes! I love them! Can't wait until they are abundant in the stores!
