Ready, Set, Go!

My favorite bikers raring to go!

Our indomitable bike riding trio are off once again

to participate in a Double Century bike ride on Saturday.

Yesterday Russell joined them for a simple jaunt of 20 miles.

Tomorrow they will ride a bit over 200 miles in one day!

Stephen Hayes 30 Year Retrospective

Back in the late 80's I finally got my

BFA at Marylhurst University. One 

of my favorite teachers was Stephen Hayes.

I took Second Year Drawing, Life Drawing 

and Mono-prints from Stephen. He's a 

wonderful teacher and fabulous painter.

Here I am with Stephen in front of the

chair painting that Russell and I bought back

 in the late 80's. We have loaned it to 

be included in this lovely retrospective.

It's our favorite painting.

Our train left at dawn....the city is just waking up...

Lots of herons  and other birds on the waters edge.

I really enjoy going along by the water.

Yet another road trip for us!

Soon the snow will fly and we will be cozily 

staying home. We have a few more short

trips planned before then. This time we're off

to visit friends in Vancouver BC!!

We will be taking the train from Portland Oregon.

A Quite Tardy MPP

is off having fun on Labor Day I will

finally write what came to me today

while looking at this work bench....

It's actually quite appropriate for Labor Day!

As a small child I did not dare

Ask him how come he was doing it that way

Or why in the heck didn't he pay

Someone else who knew what to do

Leaving him time to take me to the zoo

But rather I watched his frustration

and listened to all his damnation's

Until my sweet mother would come into the fray

Telling me it was time to go out and play.
