Surprise! It was my 79!!! Birthday this past
weekend and we decided at the last moment to
spontaneously drive to Weed California
to celebrate with good friends!
Needless to say we had such a fun time!

Feline Friday October 16, 2020
Last month we visited our good friends
down near Mt Shasta CA.
Here is "Sister" above and her brother
"Mister" below! They just showed up
a few years ago as little kittens
and obviously knew a good place to be!
And even tho' he is not a feline we could
not leave out "Toby" a darling Cairn Terrier!
He lives not too far from Mister and Sister
with more good friends!!

Castle Lake is a glacial lake located in the Trinity Mountains, in Siskiyou County of northern California.
It is west of Mount Shasta City and Mount Shasta peak.

Plus we got to meet Bob and Pat's new puppy Toby!
Darling Australian Shepherd only 9 weeks old.
After dinner our PCT hiker Lauren
cleaned up the massive pile of dishes
while continuing to elevate her injured toe!
And this morning....
Lucy is enjoying being outdoors.....
even if having to be on a leash!

Fall is here...

A dusting of snow on Mt Shasta yesterday
and since it's raining here today I'll bet there's
more snow on Shasta today! Yay!
Our Oak trees are changing color and
shedding hundreds...thousands of leaves!
We our first fire this morning and guess
who was enjoying herself?

Lots of rain and snow this week!
Usually by now our wildflowers have to be tough to survive in this hard scrabble and rocky dirt. Even the weeds !
Not sure what the yellow flower above is, but
the flower below is Indian Paintbrush.
Meanwhile, Mt Shasta has fresh snow and the sage
in my herb planter box is very happy.
Supposedly by tomorrow the temperatures will
rise into the 80's....so I'll enjoy the cooler weather today!
