Stephen Hayes 30 Year Retrospective

Back in the late 80's I finally got my
BFA at Marylhurst University. One
of my favorite teachers was Stephen Hayes.
I took Second Year Drawing, Life Drawing
and Mono-prints from Stephen. He's a
wonderful teacher and fabulous painter.
Here I am with Stephen in front of the
chair painting that Russell and I bought back
in the late 80's. We have loaned it to
be included in this lovely retrospective.
It's our favorite painting.
Here's more info:

  4. There was a time when there were three Stephen Hayeses painting in Portland Oregon. This fellow was one; another learned how to paint in prison after knocking off a few liquor stores, and then there was me. I learned when I went to refinance my house years ago that I was the only Stephen Hayes with good credit.

  7. I was so confused for a minute because I follow one of the Stephen Hayes' blog. Thank goodness that Stephen left a comment so I didn't have to ask if your painting was done by him.

Still.. a very cool picture and I love that you are giving credit to someone that touched your life in a positive way.

  8. this Stephen Hayes is NOT our wonderful fellow blogger Stephen Hayes of Chubby Chatterbox fame!
I first looked at Mr. C's blog because I thought he was the other Mr Hayes! Cheers to all!

I love comments and will attempt to reply to each one. However, lately I have been getting "Unknown" comments that are linked to some sort of web page. I will never open this sort of comment and will immediately mark as spam. I am not interested in opening something that could be detrimental to my blog security etc. Never have enjoyed hackers! Thanks!
