Awww Monday! June 1, 2015

After spending a day in Bend Oregon
we headed to Baker City to visit good friends.

On the way we stopped outside of Sumpter on Hwy 7 to look at the remnants of an old
mill town that now is just an ghost town.....

There may not be any humans around but we saw a lot of these cute little prairie dogs!
They were scampering all over the place!
~~~
Be sure to thank Sandee of  Comedy Plus
as she started Awww Mondays! Cheers!
  6. Hi Kathe,
    Your photos are lovely! What a great place!!! :) Thank you so much for your visit and kind comment on my blog! I don't participate in memes, but Sandy came to my blog today and thought that my post was appropriate for the Awwww Monday theme and she kindly added my blog link, which I thought was very kind of her. I do, however, return visits and comments, which is why I have come to visit you! You have a lovely blog. :)
  8. Some of my favorite lil critters! Thank you for sharing. I find it so sad that people are building and pushing them out of their habitat. I see them on the side of the road a lot and the outcome is not good. At one time there was a fellow in Kansas who had a prairie dog town. Half the visitors said he was mistreating them and the other half said they seemed happy. I think the fellow passed away because I no longer see the signs advertising the place. But he did boast to having the biggest prairie dog around. I think their living style is really unique and they take care of the females and babies to protect them from predators. They seem to almost have more sense then so many humans these days! When my girls worked for a Sonic Drive In they would toss the left over tater tots to them at night. There was an open field across the lot from their Sonic Drive In. My daughter Rebekah loved feeding them and they would wait at the sidewalk to get their nightly treats!
    Have a great weekend and thank yoi for sharing.
