This past weekend we went to Astoria, Oregon for a reunion with many of Russell's Special Forces buddies. We barbequed and we all brought side dishes to share. It was a great time!
The day before Russell and I explored the Lewis and Clark National Historic Park and spent some time looking at Fort Clatsop and hiking one of the many trails.
We walked a total of 2 miles along the
Columbia River- so very peaceful!
The next day was the BBQ day! It was held in
the old enormous Bumble Bee cannery that now has
a lot of interesting history and lots of rooms
full of machinery exhibits. In addition there
are shops with lots of fun things
to purchase and also some restaurants.
Our reunion was held in the banquet room that had
wonderful views of ships and the Columbia River.
Everyone had a great time catchimg up, laughing
and telling stories! Here are a few photos:
It was very smoky that day because of all the
wildfires in Oregon.
This pigeon watched me closely for a bit....
Last shot of the day- that's me
waving hello to all of you!
Have a great week!
Thanks Sandee!!!

How fun and it was probably a beautiful road trip, minus the smoke. We were on the Lewis and Clark highway on our Montana trip.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful weekend you both had. We've not had all the smoke here that we've had in years past, but it's awful.
