Smoky wildfire skies create hazy shadows

Some wildfires here have been burning
since August 1, 2014. At this time the
fires in Happy Camp, CA have burned
over 100,000 acres.

  1. Gorgeous sunsets but at a terrible price. We are just coming out of the smoke here as well. Except we have stubble fields being burned around us in these first few clearer days. Sigh. Lovely shadows you captured though.

  2. We need rain, without lightening. We are so very dry.

Have a fabulous weekend honey. Big hugs. ♥♥♥

  3. It seems so odd that the acrid smoke added to the sunny sky creates an innocuous and pretty pink and orange haze. I'd prefer a regular blue sky and no fires!

  5. It's been a long time since I lived in California but I was born there and still have a sense of loyalty. It pains me to read about the three year drought and all the wildfires. I hope the state gets plenty of rain this summer. Take care.

  11. Oh, how sad and terrible!
(I eventually succumbed and joined Google+. They make it that you pretty much have to. I resisted a long time, but eventually found other reasons why it was useful to me to be there, so I gave in. I quite understand how you feel and why you won't be visiting my blog/s.)

  13. The smoky hazed sunset is quite mystical. And even the indoor light and shadows do seem smoky too.

  15. Are you in the Happy Camp area? I was investigating a teaching job there several years ago, but now am glad that I didn't accept it!
