Looking up hill that once had homes
September 17, 2014
There was a very informative meeting at the college last night and
good plans are being implemented to help folks rebuild and ensure that
no one is overlooked- of course the Red Cross is helping too. The Portland
office of Roseburg Mill has plans in place to help any employees needing
assistance and the mill will be re-opening after inspections.
The same goes for the High School and Elementary school.
In a way I think this fire will help Weed pull itself out of the "funk" it has been
in since the lumber industry was crippled back in the 70-80's.
We will be involved in helping the Weed Library
rebuild as it was completely destroyed.
( along with my photography show that was up...
and those photos can be reprinted thank goodness!!)
So- life goes on and will be challenging for awhile
but thank goodness there were no injuries nor loss of lives.
Glad they are diving into repairs and rebuilding right away. Give the town and its people purpose. Sorry you lost your photos, but at least they weren't the only copies.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you lost your photography, but those can be redone. No injuries or loss of life is wonderful. It appears the your community is banding together. Excellent.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day honey. Big hugs. ♥♥♥
I am so glad the community is coming together to rebuild and rise again. We are glad there were no injuries or loss of life.
ReplyDeleteIm so sorry for the loss of your photography! Im so happy you and many others are okay. Have been praying. I was actually thinking of you this past week with the fires all over the entire West coast. So many fmaily and friends near them all. Blessings
ReplyDeleteThe only good thing about disasters like this is that they often help draw a community together to rebuild and make their city better than ever. I hope this is the case in Weed.
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful when the community pulls together this way.
