This time of year apples are

ripening and some do fall on the

ground if not picked....

This time of year I wish I had

some of these apples to

give to our lovely deer..... 

 

But all there is for deer to eat where we live

are all the acorns falling off the Oak trees.

 

 

But our buck doesn't seem to mind...

Some mornings must have hot chocolate!!

 

 

I love Mexican Hot Chocolate....

much better than coffee (for me).

But if you must have coffee.....

you could always make a Mexican Mocha!

Just put some Mexican cocoa mix in

your cup before adding the hot coffee.

It will put a bit of zip in your day! 

 

And here's a bit of sculpture whimsy

to add another type of spice to your day!

It's called the Diver and was created

by Candace Miller who is a local artist

in Dunsmuir, California.

Lots of Jackrabbits this year!

 

They love to graze on our lawn.

Russell encourages them as it means

less mowing for Russell!

They really are nice little animals.

Creating a quilt is a process.....

 

Selection of fabric colors....

 

 

Sewing many strips together....

 

Arranging the squares into a pleasing design....

 

 

Finally it's all constructed....

( the outer material is the backing )

And off to the quilter it goes! Yay!

 

While I was at the quilters I picked up

the other quilt I made 3 weeks ago.

 

 

Now I just have to sew on the binding.

I love making these baby quilts!
