Bees are very important !

They pollinate a third of our food. That's right!
One out of every three bites you put in your mouth was pollinated by honeybees. In addition to pollinating crops such as apples, almonds, broccoli strawberries, cucumbers and cotton, bees also pollinate alfalfa seeds which are used for beef and dairy feed.

And let's not forget the honey they make!

Thursday May 20, 2021 is Bee Day!

Have a sweet and awesome day every day!!

Thanks Sandee for Awww Mondays!

 I love bees!

Such an awesome garden and flower buddy.

I love being around them as they

work the garden gathering pollen to

make honey. They are amazing !

Bees are important and not just for their delicious honey. Read here to learn more.

It's Time for Awww Mondays! May 19, 2014

Baby plants can be cute too!

Last April we bought a Meyer Lemon tree

and managed to harvest 2 lemons.

This year our tree is loaded with

blossoms and since it is inside still

we have been busy as bees. In other

words we have been the pollinators

armed not with scopas. We have

to be artistic pollinators armed

with tiny paint brushes.

So far we have well over 15 tiny lemons.

That will add up to lots on

lemony delights later on this year!

Right now we can smell the lemony

fragrance  throughout the house.

N is for Nasturtiums

Nasturtiums

Warm sunny colors

Sweetly beckon the hummingbirds

bees and butterflys

I always plant nasturiums not only because

they are so pretty, but they attract all sorts

of pollinators that we love to watch and enjoy

their busy-ness of life. Nothing better than

sitting in the sun enjoying life around you.

The flowers and leaves are also quite tasty

in a salad or used as a fancy garnish.

Magpie 19

I had too much fun with this photo prompt-but couldn't make up my mind as to which one to use...so poem fans here are two to choose from-you tell me which one I should have chosen! And don't forget to visit Magpie Tales to see more poetry from all of us! http://magpietales.blogspot.com/

First Try

Relaxing on a blanket

Lazing in the sun

What could be better

Since you are here.

Wine and cheese please

And pass the baguette

with the little knife

that has the cute bee.

Another One

My palsy walsy

Busy as a bee

Wanted the perfect knife

To use for cheese.

He searched the cupboards

He pawed through the drawers

No little French knife

To be found, oh alors!.

Finally we remembered

The last time it was used

A picnic last weekend

and voila! there it was!

It was in my purse

I could see the slight glint

Upending my purse-I dumped it all out

Pencils, stockings, my evil eye and

ahah! there it was!

Ensnared by the wee little fish.
