Thankful Thursday January 28, 2021

The photo above was taken by
William Oliver of Bennington, Washington.
I saw it on our local Nextdoor website
and he was so kind to allow me to use it!
Have a lovely day!

I am so thankful for our librarians
who either work from home or
within the libraries.
We can reserve books online and then
when notified can come to the library
and safely pick them up outside!
One can only watch so much TV!
And thanks to Brian for Thankful Thursday!!

  11. What would we do without libraries! My favorite library story comes from a military wife i knew who told me that at one point, the commander of their base was going to shut down the base library to save money as they'd been ordered to find ways to cut costs. He figured they didn't need a library, and the parents and teachers at the school on base were horrified, but other commanders of other bases heard about it and were also taken with the idea.

A higher-up in the command chain got wind of the plan, and made the announcement that if he came to any base that had shut its library to save money, and found they still had their golf course open, there was going to be h*!! to pay.

    No base libraries closed!

  12. Beautiful photo, and dad really loves the chair one, too. Our local library is one of dad's favorite places as he and mom are avid readers. Mom typically shoos dad off to the library every couple of Saturdays to load up with a pile for the both of them. They do the call ahead/pick up thing, but they're also open inside, allowing only one person per aisle. Dad pretty much just plants himself in front of the large print section way in the back. Yeah, he's getting on in years.

I love comments and will attempt to reply to each one. However, lately I have been getting "Unknown" comments that are linked to some sort of web page. I will never open this sort of comment and will immediately mark as spam. I am not interested in opening something that could be detrimental to my blog security etc. Never have enjoyed hackers! Thanks!
