Six Words and Sunday Shadows! December 27, 2014

Memories of Mexico....
Always with us...

Mexican art from Chiapas and Oaxaca

The handcrafted yarn horse with
Chiapas hero Marcos stand below a
wall hanging from Valle del Teotitlan, Oaxaca.
The last time we were in Oaxaca we met
Arnulfo Mendoza a wonderful artist and person.
Unfortunately he died suddenly in March of this year.
We are so fortunate to have spent some time
with him and his family.

RIP Arnulfo

  3. Beautiful shadowy warmth beneath the wall hanging. And the artist looks like a kindly creator. Lovely expression on his face.

  4. How lovely. How sad though that he had such a short life. I'm so happy you got to spend some time with his family.

Have a terrific day. Big hugs. ♥♥♥

  6. He was 'fairly' young too. I hope you have a piece of his work.

  7. Your descriptions and pictures of Mexico make me want to take time to visit.

How sad to lose a talented artist in his prime.

  8. Arnulfo's life might not have been long, but that photo shows a man happy with himself and doing what he loved. If only that could be said of everyone.

Lovely Mexican shadows and sad that such a talent has been cut short so young.

  10. Gosh...not even 60 years old. Too young to die.
What lovely treasures to have of that trip which continues to 'give'!
