The Unhappy Stove

Here I sit all alone
Cold and abandoned
Shoved off to the dump
It's really quite rotten

You've chosen another
To roast your turkey-
Baking the dressing
I'm totally forgotten

All those years
You depended on me
To make lump free gravys
And bake those perfect pies

I miss the family and
The heart of your kitchen
Hearing clinks of forks
 And happy tummy-full sighs
~~~~~~
Happy Thanksgiving !!
  1. How brilliant of you to give a voice to a discarded stove. This makes me think of all the appliances I've discarded without thought after they've provided years of service.
  2. Oh no, poor old sad lost little stove, it's only the rust that makes you look so uninviting, really. Perhaps they'll reconsider and take you back for their basement stove! Cute little poem.
  3. This is perfect for Thanksgiving. I'm feeling sorry for that discarded stove.
    Have a fabulous day. Big hugs. ☺
  4. It's this kind of anthropomorphizing that makes it hard for me to get rid of stuff! An interesting view from the stove's point.
  6. Poor under-appreciated stove.
    A nicely-penned piece, Kathe!
I love comments and will attempt to reply to each one. However, lately I have been getting "Unknown" comments that are linked to some sort of web page. I will never open this sort of comment and will immediately mark as spam. I am not interested in opening something that could be detrimental to my blog security etc. Never have enjoyed hackers! Thanks!
