Instead they were enlightening

Years of ascending 

Leading us to blending

We have become one-

Connected by sinuous invisible cables

Of passion and compassion

Let's get up

I shouldn't get mad-

You're just a pup.

I think dogs are so loving and forgiving.

We are lucky to have them in our lives; 

as they can teach us a lot if we let them.

When I drive on winding country roads

I keep my eye out and it ain't for toads

I'm looking sharp for those little deer

Who haven't a clue it's quite clear!
They jump about and chase each other
Into the street-their poor deer mother!
All ears and legs- cute as can be
How they survive is amazing to me!

As the gloaming covered the city
She now closed the blinds

Patting her tummy she murmered
"Okay kiddo-we're on our own"
