Awww Monday! February 27, 2023

We have had an amazing snow fest
here in the Pacific Northwest!

The Portland, Oregon and Vancouver, Washington area hasn’t seen this much snow all at once in 80 years. “This is a big deal,” said Tonja Fransen, a meteorologist at the local National Weather Service office. Portland International Airport recorded 10.8 inches Wednesday, beating out the 9.3 inches that fell on a January day in 1956. Since snowfall record-keeping at the airport began in 1939, the greatest snow accumulation over a day was 14.4 inches in 1943.

Needless to say I have been feeding the birds and squirrels plus the occasional rabbit with sunflower seeds and shelled peanuts! We can watch them from our dining room windows - as does Lucy our cat! It's a live nature show for all of us!

  1. So beautiful. A huge Awww and I knew that you'd be feeding all the precious wildlife. You two rock.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Love and hugs to you and Russell and tons of scritches to Miss Lucy. ♥

  2. You had all this incredible snow, I hope it helps with water levels if that is a concern your way. We have too warm for normal Feb but since I have not had to shovel the drive in weeks, I don't mind.

  3. That sure is a bunch of snow. The critters sure do appreciate the food, that they do!

  4. Wow. It's wonderful of you to help the critters, i'm sure they aren't sure what's going on.

  5. We have seen that your area has received a lot of snow. Enjoy it while it lasts!

  6. Crazy amount of snow. While you guys were getting that, our temperatures surged into the eighties. Weird!

  7. I heard about all that. WOW that is some record setting you all are having in the Pacific NW.
What great entertainment from the comfort of your home.
    Hugs cecilia

I will look for the new series
    Hugs C

  11. Very pretty. How nice of you to feed everyone. :) XO

  12. Y'all got a good snow fall for sure! The weather is super crazy. I for one am happy we didn't get anything like this. In fact, it's felt spring like. Maybe, we're out of the woods for really super cold weather. *cross fingers* Have a boogietastic week, my dear!

I love comments and will attempt to reply to each one. However, lately I have been getting "Unknown" comments that are linked to some sort of web page. I will never open this sort of comment and will immediately mark as spam. I am not interested in opening something that could be detrimental to my blog security etc. Never have enjoyed hackers!
