Thankful Thursday January 6, 2022

 Thanks Brian for Thankful Thursday!

I love the animals that live outside our home.
Some folks think they are pests....
They were here before us and
I will enjoy their antics !

Have a lovely day!

  1. We enjoy all the critters that come into our yard.
Except the voles. They are tearing up our yard and burrowing under our patio. Not cool.

    1. Thanks Alex for your nice comments. Here's a tip for detering those pesky voles and other rodents:
Castor oil or peppermint oil has an asphyxiating effect on rats, mice, chipmunks, moles, squirrels, and shrews. A cotton ball with four to five drops of either oil placed where mice appear (and out of reach of cats and dogs) should be sufficient to chase them away.

    2. Alex- we put the castor beads into the holes made by the gophers and voles and they leave. Good luck!

  2. Those are the two that we get in the yard and we love to chase them and hunt them. Mom just bought squirrel food and it is luring more squirrels into our trees. We are going crazy trying to catch them but they climb and fly, so it is almost impossible but we never give up hope.

  4. They are precious! We enjoy what others call 'pests' too - we have squirrels and opossums, sometimes a racoon or two drop by as well.

    1. We also have an occasional racoon and possum- but not often- also coyotes and bob cats stroll down below in the protected greenspace with a seasonal creek. Right now the creek is really roaring down below as we have gotten a lot of rain- more than an inch and a half yesterday!

  5. They aren't pests here either. So cute. I love how Miss Lucy is so intently looking at the bunny. I also know she's restrained. It's how you roll. Do no harm.

Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday. Love and hugs all around. ♥

  7. What great thankfuls! We don't have any bunnies around here, but we have loads of wild creatures. Mom tries to keep us in and away from the Coyotes, cougars and viscious deer. My favorite is to chase the squirrels!

I love comments and will attempt to reply to each one. However, lately I have been getting "Unknown" comments that are linked to some sort of web page. I will never open this sort of comment and will immediately mark as spam. I am not interested in opening something that could be detrimental to my blog security etc. Never have enjoyed hackers! Thanks!
