Lots of words- so much for being Wordless!
While we were in Mexico in early November Lucy
was boarded in a cat only space- unfortunately
for whatever reason, as she has stayed there before,
she started to scratch herself on the back of her neck.
And then scratch all over her neck. Yikes.
When we got back after being gone 2 weeks she
had some issues and we promptly took her to
the veterinarian and they treated her scratched sores
and also gave her a perky pink pedicure to keep
her back claws from doing any more damage.
Her scratchy sores are almost all healed up
and she is needless to say Happy to be home!
From now on we will have someone come to our
home and spend time with her and feed her.
After all she is 11 years old and set in her ways!
And with all the Covid nonsense we will not be
going any where for quite a while!

Was it stress?
ReplyDeleteAlex- it had to have been stress- not sure why as she has stayed at the same place a few times before- and for a few weeks each time. Poor kitty- won't leave her there again- we have neighbors who will take care of her. Thanks for asking.
DeletePets tend to miss their owners more when staying away from home. This is one reason why hubby doesn't want any more pets. Having someone over to feed them and spend time with them is a good arrangement. It will be less stressful for the pets.
ReplyDeleteWow! you must had been so worried about her good to hear you were able to get her sorted out and well again.
ReplyDeleteHave a tanfastical week and my best wishes for Lucy 👍(=⚈ᆽ⚈=)
Glad the sores have healed. Love those snazzy pink toes!!

It was probably from stress. Dogs will bite or scratch themselves when they are stressed too. Glad it is all healing up nicely.
ReplyDeletePoor Lucy. Awww, but I'm glad she's recovering. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com

Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. Love and hugs all around. ♥
The one ~ and only ~ time we boarded our English Springer, she developed the dreaded kennel cough. Lesson learned.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!!
Poor Lucy. I am glad she is doing better. XO
ReplyDeletePoor sweet Lucy, I'm glad she's feeling better. It could have even been an allergic reaction to cleaning chemicals used there.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad everything is OK with her!

Lucy! Your nails are glorious! Queen Nellie had those (to stop her from scratching the furniture) for about 6 months. Hers were a wonderful pink too! We are glad they helped with your scratching yourself. And we can tell you are happy to be home,
ReplyDeleteSome pets love the boarding hotels where they go, and some just want to be home. Lucy is the latter, and i am glad she'll get to stay home next time.
