It's Awww Monday! August 13, 2018

Earlier this week we were in Portland, Oregon
visiting friends and family. We spent a few hours
at the Portland Art Museum's classy exhibit
of amazing old cars The Shape of Speed.

This Alpha Romeo on exhibit was made the same
year I was born. It's amazing how beautiful all these
cars are compared to todays vehicles. Our cars
may be safer, but they sure don't have that classic look!

  4. The rolling art of classic automobiles is something I could view for hours. Even some of the cars designed in the early '70's are a delight to the eye. There are a few nice examples today, but many are simply variations on a theme and very monotonous to view. Have a blessed week.

  6. It is sad that today's cars lack the classic artistry of years gone by.

  8. Kathe,

Thanks for dropping by yesterday. I love seeing vintage cars. They are a work of art compared to today's automobiles. Everything these days look too much alike. You can't tell the difference between a Toyota Camry or Hyundai Sanota. Every car has the same bleak (NOT sleek) black dash and chrome everywhere finish. The interior of cars in production now look cheap, cheap, cheap and the exterior looks hateful and rude. I really can't warm up to anything that looks like this and the manufacturers want me to spend thousands of dollars are this trash? Let's just say as a lifetime Toyota owners, we are checking out everything just in case our car explodes suddenly. She's an old, faithful gal but like all things, she has her limit. Oops, I'm ranting, aren't I? Ahhh, sorry 'bout that! *blush* Great photos! Whenever you get a second, please stop by to vote in my latest BoTB!
