Wordless Wednesday June 6, 2018

2018 Photo Project
Photo #149

A quiet afternoon interrupted by
the noisy freight train!
Thanks Sandee for Wordless Wednesday!
And here's the recipe I promised you!

Mocha Almond Chocolate Chip Cookies
1 cup unsalted butter softened
1/2 cup packed dark brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup unbleached flour
1/4 cup unsweetened Dutch cocoa
2 Tbl instant coffee powder
(If crystallized crush to a powder)
1/2 tsp salt
1.2 tsp baking soda
1/2- 3/4 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
1/2  - 1 cup sliced raw almonds
preheat oven to 350F
cream butter with brown sugar and then white sugar
until completely mixed. Add the egg and vanilla and mix
well again.  Sift together the flour, cocoa, coffee powder,
salt and baking soda. Stir into the creamed  mixture
until well blended. Stir in the almonds and chocolate chips.
Drop rounded teaspoonful's onto parchment paper
covered baking sheets. Flatten the mounds slightly with
the heel of your hands or a rubber spatula dipped in sugar.
Bake the cookies for about 12 minutes .  They are done
when they have puffed up and then subsided a bit to
have a crackled surface.  Cool the cookies on the paper for
a fewminutes before removing to a wire rack.
Enjoy!

Love the shot, not the noisy train, but the view is beautiful.

I love comments and will attempt to reply to each one. However, lately I have been getting "Unknown" comments that are linked to some sort of web page. I will never open this sort of comment and will immediately mark as spam. I am not interested in opening something that could be detrimental to my blog security etc. Never have enjoyed hackers!
