Yummy Dutch Baby
~~~
We love having friends come to visit us.
And when they stay overnight....
oh boy do they get a delicious breakfast!
Earlier this week I made a Dutch Baby
for our visiting friend ....
Dutch Baby
1/3 cup butter 5 large eggs 1 cup milk 1 cup flour
Put butter in a 9x13 inch baking dish or a
12 inch cast iron skillet and place in 425F oven to melt.
While butter is melting put eggs in a blender on high
for 1 minute. Gradually add the milk and then slowly add the flour blending for 30 more seconds.
Open the oven and carefully pour the batter
into the hot melted butter.
Open the oven and carefully pour the batter
into the hot melted butter.
Or take out the baking dish and pour in the batter and then return to the oven. Bake until puffy and nicely browned,
approximately 20-25 minutes. Serve immediately with your choices of powdered sugar, lemon wedges and maple syrup.
Homemade jam is also a nice topping for the Dutch Baby.
