Happy Summer Solstice-the longest day!
We are here in Sacramento California for
a quick visit. Here are some photos from yesterday

Yesterday we combined family business
with a special and personalized tour of the
restored Capitol building. My dad was
the architect for this Restoration project.
It was the cherry on top of his career.
It's a gorgeous building.

shortest day! Either way - have fun and smile!

  5. The one and only time I visited the state capitol was on a field trip in the fifth grade. I remember it being really exciting. I should plan another visit.

  6. I once loved a rotunda. And I think she had a soft spot for me, too. But it didn't work out. She found another. After that, I felt like one hand of a clock.

When I first moved to my husband's town, he showed the state capitol off to me. Then this previous year, I got to experience it again but through the eyes of my students. Most of them knew about the elevator and the view from the top, but not so much about the paintings and statues. Both visits were interesting experiences. :-)

PS I love the photos of the disappearing Margherita Pizza and the selfie!
