Magpie Tales #226 A Game of Chance

A Game of Patience, 1937, Meredith Frampton

Are you sure you want to see this card?
 It's rather like Eve's apple...or Pandora's box
Some say it's real...I say it's surreal
The future is best not known
As it's rarely a good deal

and many thanks to Tess Kincaid for Magpie Tales!

  9. When I was a kid we'd sometimes play "What If" games and one of them was what if you could tell the future. Would you want to know? I always said "NO."

  13. it's impossible to unsay something. or to unthink it. who knows what the future is but if it is 'foretold' to you you're more likely to manifest it or at least spend too much time expecting it.

  18. Agree, best not to know the future but we can all make the best of our present no matter what hand of cards we are dealt. This lady should realise that and search her heart and go for it.

    Beautifully done ~ Eddie

I love the words this prompt inspired you to write. Very interesting and makes a person think. I'm glad I never could foresee the future.

  23. This is marvelous (and also the first time I have seen the pic for #226....I am so behind). So I guess your magpie cinches my decision to not go have my Tarot read in downtown Silverton this coming weekend!
