Day Two in Bend Oregon

After having a nice breakfast we headed towards
the Old Mill District-
We walked and walked all day
passing by patient dogs waiting ....

Walking by old schools having
 a second chance of usefulness....

The city of Bend has been smart at reusing
old buildings, rather than tearing them down
and blending old with new....

Artists do the same creatively recycling
 old parts into new art.....

One example of affordable housing

Meanwhile geese look for lunch while
families float by on the Deschutes River...
a lovely way to spend the day....

Finally we discovered a great neighborhood
watering hole suitable for families
The Riverside Market....

  3. Wandering the town and eating where the locals go is the best way to see a place and get a feel for it. Looks like a great trip so far, and i hope it continues that way!

  7. Bend is a great place and just the spot when we Portlanders get tired of rain and need some sunshine, which Bend has lots of.

I love comments and will attempt to reply to each one. However, lately I have been getting "Unknown" comments that are linked to some sort of web page. I will never open this sort of comment and will immediately mark as spam. I am not interested in opening something that could be detrimental to my blog security etc. Never have enjoyed hackers! Thanks!
