Magpie 114 .....Splash!

One moment paddling
Oops underwater
Uh oh...
Realizing the danger
Holding my breath
Oh no....
Unhooking the trap
Swimming through roots
Oh boy....
Reaching to grasp
Life giving sky
Oh joy...

A joyful ending to a poem that is otherwise rather frightening.

well sometime life starts checking our breath because of its zigzag happenings.

Dont we all just love it when the swamp swallows us unexpectedly from time to time, hopefully temporarily !

Wonderful photo. I'm trying to determine which mountain it is...Hood or Shasta or another???

The ups and downs of a well loved sport. I'm glad it ended on an up - joy!

You have illustrated near-drowning and reprieve in a simple, yet effective little piece. I like it!

Kathe, Thank you for the happy "Splash". Having swam through roots, I understand the "oh boy..." too. Surfacing is joyous. I enjoyed sharing in the kayaking fun. =D
