Wordless Wednesday November 10, 2021

I took this photo of Venus and the waxing new moon at 5:53pm on November 7, 2021.
We were in Loreto, Baja Sur Mexico.
Such a glorious sight.

There was a waxing new moon with Venus
Sunday and Monday evenings, November 7 and 8, 2021 . Did you see them? In the coming days, the moon will be moving up past the planets Saturn and Jupiter in the evening sky.
~~O~~

  1. That is a wonderful capture! There's so much light pollution around here, mostly we see satellites, not planets or stars.

    1. Mimi- It was a magical experience- being in warm Mexico and seeing this unique event- just happenstance that we looked up at just the right moment on our way walking to a restaurant for dinner!

    1. Cecilia- I used my camera....not my ancient flip phone! I have become a bit like a luddite- because I see so many people literally glued to their phones and I want to see, touch and experience life as it happens! So I continue to use my flip phone! I wish we still could use film cameras
but I am not sure where I would get the film developed let alone the photos printed. When I was getting my BFA in Photography there was nothing more fun (other than taking the photos) than being in the magical darkroom ! Thanks for your always nice comments! Cheers!

  8. Mom has no clue about astronomy but we have enjoyed seeing the moon in the clear skies during our early morning walks and runs.

  14. It's always great fun to gaze into the night sky when there is some astrological event taking place. Nice image.

  15. Yes I did see it here in the Southwest UK. I am not sure which day last week but the crescent was very thin and low. It looked like a long cats's claw sticking in the road hedge. I wish I had taken a photo but don't think it would have been successful as the moon was a dim reddish colour.
