When we travel to Mexico I always take
time each day to draw with color pencils.
I sit under my palapa on the beach and
draw images from my memories or
my imagination and not
from what I see in front of me.
It's the only time I do this and I'm not sure
why that is. But, it's fun and relaxing and
I usually give some away before we come home.

This one I gave away to Jorge who is a
wonderful artist who paints on the beach
using his fingers as paint brushes.
The banner photo above shows his set up
that was in front of me right before the surf.

Totally made up with ridiculous perspective
but I had fun with it!

Seriously silly! Jorge wanted to know
how I came up with this! I had no idea.

Before we left for our vacation I finished this
baby quilt. Good thing, because when we got home
the baby had been born the day before we came
home. So, it got mailed a few days ago.
The baby quilts that I make are like my drawings;
other than choosing the fabrics to use,
I never know what they will be like until I am done.
It will be fun to see photos of the baby with her quilt!
Have a fun day whatever you do!

What lovely drawings. If you enjoy something then you should do it whenever you can. How fun.
ReplyDeleteLove the baby blanket. To pretty.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday, Kathe. Big hug to you both and lots of scritches to Miss. Lucy. ♥♥♥
We're set to go to Mexico soon and after seeing your drawings, i'm even more impatient to get to the beach! The baby quilt is lovely. Fortunate the baby who receives such a labor of love.

I think those are great and you should frame them in colorful frames and hang them together at home to remember the trip. Your quilt is gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteThose are really fun drawings!
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty drawings, i am glad you indulge your talent and wonder why you don’t do so more often. That’s also a fun quilt for a very blessed baby.
