Home Home on the Range....

Oregon 66 near the Pinehurst Inn

Home, home on the dump
Where beer cans and cantalope rot
Where seldom is heard a recycling word
And the locals do need to be taught
~~~~~~
Out in remote areas recycling is not easy
as there are not enough people to make it
economically feasible. Some folks work
at recycling and others just toss it aside
just like this used up stove.
Peggy at Poetry Jam came up with trash
as this weeks theme. To see what others wrote
or to participate just sashay over here:
And for heavens sake have a great day!
    There must be some way to make it reusable... may be some junkyard could make use of some components.
    Yes, recycling may not be economically feasible.
  3. In the small town where I grew up in it wasn't feasible but now that I live in an area that promotes it I am very much a recycling person.
  4. That picture made me smile, but it's a real shame that some people just dump their garbage like that. :(
  5. Love this very lyric poem! I had not thought about recycling being less economically feasible in rural areas. (and I do love the humor of the open range!)
  6. Someone out there has a terrific sense of humor. If only it could be matched by better attention to environmentalism.
  7. I've seen that kind of thing as well. Really awful that people don't take any more care of their environment than that!!
    Thanks for taking part in Poetry Jam. Hope you'll enjoy visiting others who post links as well!
  8. Very creative, and what a pity. I'm sure someone will come by and pick it up.
  9. Heck, you'll see that where I live and it's not remote at all.
    Like your lyrics. Need to get someone to sing them.
  10. Even though the folks absolutely need to be taught and the topic is serious, your poem and picture make me laugh, which isn't easy. Well done.
  11. Good take on the theme. At least that range was turned into art, sort of.
    Here, where we have household trash pick up twice a week, recycling pick up once a week, garbage pick up once a week, and the cherry picker for trees that come down and other big stuff once a month, as well as two household hazardous waste collection days per year, we still get people throwing stuff where it doesn't belong. Boggles my mind.
  12. We live in California. There are all kinds of placed to recycle where I live, but you'll find trash everywhere. It's too much trouble for these lazy people.
    Have a terrific day. :)
  14. Funny picture! Although the fact that someone would just toss an appliance on the side of a road isn't funny. Recycling is making strides in our area but there are still morons that throw their trash on roadsides.
  15. Exellent, we all need to be taught that lesson.
I love comments and will attempt to reply to each one. However, lately I have been getting "Unknown" comments that are linked to some sort of web page. I will never open this sort of comment and will immediately mark as spam. I am not interested in opening something that could be detrimental to my blog security etc. Never have enjoyed hackers!
