Happy Easter!

Saturday morning I opened my eyes and saw
that we had a lovely sunrise.
Today it's raining.....

Saturday I also dyed a few eggs just for my pleasure...

I also made Hot Cross Buns for the first time ever.
I could not find any in town- and guess what?
They are the best I have ever tasted!
Here's the link for the recipe:

112th Holy Ghost Festival in Hawkinsville California

Yesterday we drove up to Hawkinsville to the
Holy Ghost Festival also known as the annual Portugese Picnic.
The Festival begins with a parade to the church
complete with military honor guard
and the Queen of the Festival with her entourage.

Meanwhile the BBQ pit is emptied of all the roasts that
have been cooking since the night before.
and the kitchen staff is ready and waiting for the crowd....

Finally it's our turn to grab a plate and sit down to a delicious lunch!

It was a really great day- a slice of American Apple Pie day!
