Poetry Jam March 27, 2014 Letting Go!

Baby Turtles, Zihuatanejo, Mexico
November 12, 2012

Raising children is an intricate dance
First a slow waltz usually at night
Sleepily rocking while in a trance

Later on it's a crazy polka
Chasing those chubby little legs
You will need a strong mocha

Then drama with a hormonal teen
Changes the dance to a moody tango
Happy for a sec and then makes a scene

Look out! Here comes the jitterbug
As they ask for the car keys
And did I mention using drugs?

Now ready to move on their own
Not with a Limbo, Twist or Shuffle
It's a new dance- the Stepping Stone.
