Fred's first visit to the Oregon Brewers Festival July 22, 2015

First Fred paid his respects to
Linus Pauling who is buried in
the Lake Oswego Pioneer Cemetery.
Our good friend Joe is the caretaker
there so when we visit we usually
stay there....and the neighborhood
is quite peaceful....

Fred's first taste- he and I shared.
We tried an ale from New Zealand.

Some folks take the brew fest as
an opportunity to get dressed up.

The festival is well prepared....

After a bit we had a lamb gyro
with garlic fries.

Okay- I think Fred has had enough!

It's time to leave the Festival and
go to Hubers for a great turkey sandwich
and a Spanish Coffee!

Made in front of us- this gentleman
has been a fixture at Hubers for decades!
Making a Spanish Coffee is an art form.

Yum.

Back home using public transportation

Traffic was so slow and backed up
I chose to get out and walk the rest of the way.
One of the big reasons we don't
live here any more!
Have a great day and always be safe!

Haven't done this for quite awhile!
We first drove to Bend....
here are a few random photos....

We had to take a detour via Hwy 20 and 395
to get to John Day as Hwy 26 was closed
because of wildfires near Mitchell .....

A Week with Grace and Other Things

Grace flew over from NYC for a wonderful week long visit...

We started out at the annual Oregon Brewers Festival...

Then had friends over for a good visit-here's Zan and Grace

We hiked the trails at Silver Creek Falls-
spent 4 hours and saw lots of waterfalls...

Flowery meadows going home on the backroads...

Kids playing in Jamison Parks fountain....

and the final photo is an homage to Magpie Tales and
my poem for this week having to do with odds and ends that I collect.
