Our new Children's Library is open!

Looking into the new Children's Library

The little house on the right is actually the book drop made for us by the Helmsmen - a local

business that creates amazing wood furniture!

They also made the small table and chairs.

 

 

A collage of our first visitor- he came to the grand opening on April 23rd.

He had a lovely time! It's so great to have a special room just for the children!

Lucy is a lucky girl-

we are now taking her for walks

while she is on a leash!

She loves her walks for awhile

and then wants back in the house

as we think she gets a bit too excited and perhaps a bit scared. 

So back in the house she goes!

 

 

Always watching everything!



Especially the squirrels...

they fascinate her!

soon she went back into the house!

More Siskiyou County required equipment... 

 

Why the tree died... 

 

Angry biting ants do not like being disturbed... 

 

Yikes

 

It went down between two smaller trees 

KaBaam!

 

Looking from the top towards the stump

 

 

Russell resting on his laurels...

 

The Knob Cone Pine tree was approximately

96' tall and approximately 40" across the top of the stump. The top of the tree snapped off when it fell so I am not sure how tall it really was. Now to figure out how to buck it up to the top of the hill so it can be split. If need be we'll just take the  wood splitter down to the tree and use the ATV and trailer to bring up the split wood. Besides this tree Russell and Mike took out 3 Oaks that were also dead.

Most likely from the 4 year drought

and the Mountain Pine Beetle.

Awwwdorable Norton!

 

Last week we were in Lake Oswego

for a quick visit. We stayed with our good

friends Jeff and Etta and as always got such a kick out of their 4 cats! The youngest member is Norton - full of tricks and oh so adorable!
