Today and everyday I am thankful for all the people who 

adopt rescue dogs, cats and other animals!

I am also so very thankful for our nearby

Vancouver Humane Society!

Russell's Birthday Celebration continued.....

A very sweet Standard Poodle at

De Ponte Winery. What a cutie!

After visiting two wineries we drove to McMinnville.

We had made reservations at Hotel Oregon where

we have stayed before. We had also made dinner

reservations at Nick's restaurant right next door!

We had a delightful and delicious dinner.

The next day after breakfast we decided to visit 

the Evergreen Aviation Museum in McMinnville.

What an amazing place!

From Howard Hughes Spruce Goose ....

to far earlier airplanes...it was amazing!

And the Museum had so much historical information

also. We spent several hours and could have 

spent even more. We will come back and go 

through it again!

After several hours we then got back into our car

and drove back to our cozy home and our very

happy cat Lucy! Our sweet neighbor took care

of her while we were gone, but as we all say....

"There's no place like home!!"

Awww Monday! March 7, 2022

Friday March 4th was Russell's birthday so we

drove down to the Dundee Hills in Oregon. 

Just 90 minutes away! 

 

We first stopped at 

Alexana Winery for wine tasting and also having

a cheese and charcuterie appetizer plate 

with our tasting flight.

 Yum!

Russell is obviously having a great day!

We then drove a bit further to the De Ponte Winery.

It is our favorite winery!

We tasted delicious wines and Russell indulged

in not only buying some De Ponte wine but also 

some of their wine maker's wine 1789. 

Isabelle Dutartre is a fabulous wine maker!

We had a great time Friday and Saturday!

More on our little jaunt tomorrow!

Feline Friday March 4, 2022

Here are three of the five 4 week old kittens

that are rescues flown up from California

and our nearby friends are hosting them for

5 weeks before they will be ready for adoption.

They were flown up as California had no 

available homes to host them.  

Our local Humane Society assisted with setting up

our friends caring for these kittens and their mother. 

Here's one of the two black and white kittens....

And here are 3 of the 5 nursing with their mom

who came up with them. Two are black and white and

three are gray with some white spots. 

All of them will be adopted after they have all been

vaccinated and spayed/neutered.

Our friends and their children are doing such a wonderful

 job of caring for them until they can go to their forever homes!  Their children are learning such an important lesson in how to care for animals. And here is the kittens mother!

She will also be adopted!
