Magpie #34

Remember on windy nights
lights would flicker and go out
making rooms seem dark and bitter
Fathers would grumble
and root around
while Mothers would light candles
making a warm sight
Telling us stories til we fell asleep
knowing she was right
that there would always be light
in the morning.

Willow Manor Ball

The party's over
jazz lingers in the air
the flair of the night
Will be in our hearts
Forever
Thanks Willow for a finger snapping
toe tapping good time!

Kings, Queens and Warriors

Jingle has a poetry blog site and has been inviting all poets
to participate in "Poetry Potluck". This weeks theme is
Kings, Queens and Warriors. You can take a look here for more
poets and poetry:

Kings and Queens and Warriors....ahah!
This should be fun to write tra la la!
But other words keep interrupting my brain-
It's Lions and Tigers and Bears once again!

There's the King of the jungle-
The mighty Lion who roars right back-
And the slinky, sexy Queen of India
a Tigress crunching on her snack

And the Warrior?
Why it's my good old Pooh Bear up a tree
Fighting for his "Hunny" with that mean nasty bee....

Magpie 33

Is this a liquor to sip or?
A scent to adore?
Mi amor...?

Is it a remembrance of lusty times
Or a scent of rosemary thymes?
Mon ami?

Or is it love scented fragments
Of golden hued moments
Glistening con tigo ?
Long ago?
Wasn't it just yesterday?

Magpie 32.5

Okay- I know I already posted....
but I cannot help myself! I was having
problems sleeping last night and
entertained myself by making these up
while trying to snooze....
The photos were taken in my little crafty room-
not set up- just the silly stuff that always surrounds me...

Have you ever
Overslept and woke
Under the covers alarmed
Racing to get ready
Gritting your teeth as you
Lose your composure
And miss the last bus
Stomping back to your house
Sighing as you call your boss ?

There once was a lass from Mexico
Who drove the only bus to Texico
She was always late
Made us all wait
So we bought her a giant Rolexio

Magpie #32....time is sweet

Time is sweet
Savor each drop as if your last
Sugar sweet grain
