Lucy loves being outdoors....
even is it is on a leash!
After she has a long walk
we attach her to an immoveable
object in the shade .
Then she can watch the world go
by like this cutie....

It's Awww Monday! July 10, 2017

Every summer we look forward to meeting up
with PCT hikers and hosting them while they
are in town. This year we have teamed up with
a good friend who is a CHP and gets calls from
PCT hikers needing rides or extra help. That's
where we get to play- last weekend we hosted a
woman from Germany who needed to recuperate
from heat exhaustion. This weekend we hosted
"Beanpole "and "Clementine" for one night and
got Clementine on the Greyhound bus for Portland
and afterwards dropped Beanpole off at the trail head.

Meanwhile, our friend called us with yet another
hiker needing help as she had injured her toe
and needed a home stay for about 5 days.
Lauren will be here until Saturday when her
dad will fly in from Ohio to hike with her for
a few weeks. Her stay was well timed as she got
to meet some of our great neighbors who
were over for a potluck dinner.
Lauren is at the very end of the table on the left.

It was an Awwwsome evening!

Hammock time for Edward and Christopher

This morning's visitors while I was watering...
the two fawns off in the distance as they
aren't too sure of me.

Have a lovely Awww Monday!
Thanks Sandee!

Wordless Wednesday and Happy Fourth of July!!! July 4 and 5, 2017

Photo taken by one of my photography students.
This is the second year Weed Library has
offered free photography classes for 6-16 year olds.
Thanks to a Union Pacific grant!!
Happy 4th of July!

One of a Pacific Crest Trail hikers
who stayed with us this past weekend-
she needed a few days to recover from heat stroke.
A very nice young woman from Munich, Germany.

We have a great time hosting hikers. Sometimes we
spot them in downtown Mt Shasta and ask them
if they would like to come home with us for
the night, do their laundry, have dinner and
get a ride back to the trailhead the next morning.
We have met the nicest people - so fun!
Always a positive experience.
