Six Word Saturday and Shadow Shot Sunday August 10-11, 2013

More Manzanita cleared...job well done!!

Three Tree Trail
This is only one example of all the clearing
and trails made during these past two weeks with
the help of our friend Elliot. He came down
for two weeks and did an awesome job along
with Russell.  They cleared out so much, made
wonderful meandering trails
and built enormous burn piles that will
be ignited once we have snow on the ground.

Before

Russell with the new chain saw
after the 30+ year old one died

Elliot by one of the burn piles

After

Close up of one of the 10 huge burn piles

Last but not least-
this is how dirty one gets
working in the woods!!!

  1. Great job indeed and yes working out in the open gets one very, very dirty. Nothing a little soap and water won't cure though.

Have a fabulous weekend too. Big hugs. :)

  2. You are going to have some serious bonfires come cooler weather. It looks like it was a lot of hard work but the after picture is awesome. I am envious that you have enough properties that you can create trails.

Have a wonderful weekend and rest up from all you hard work.

Very impressive work, indeed. I no longer have that kind of initiative, nor that much energy. Salute!

  12. A wonderful change from not navigable trail full of bramble to a path to commune with nature/ A great chore that allows you to truly enjoy the land!
