Awww Monday!! Quigley the Quail

This is Quigley the Quail.
His entire family was killed by a careless driver.
(and I do mean care less)
Quigley was tenderly cared for by an
experienced naturalist, but did not live past 3 days.
He was too lonesome and missed his family.
So sad- please look out for the little guys
when you are behind the wheel.

  1. This makes me sad. Poor Quigley and his family. He was a cutie.

  2. That's really sad. I don't believe I've ever seen a quail in the wild.

  5. When i used to work at the annual Mini-Farm show, i would take care of the quail, ducklings, and chicks, making sure kids got to see them and gently pet them. They are delicate little things, and people need to be more careful!

  6. Awww, sweet little Quigley, big cruel world! We have quail here and we see them out with chicks in tow often. Today when I came home there was a roadrunner sitting on one of our patio chairs! :-)

  7. Poor little guy. What a sweet fella. Too bad that this happened.
I once tried to nurse back to health a beautiful male starling caught by this semi-feral cat that hangs around my place. Unfortunately, I think she punctured his lung. He died within a few hours.
