Poetry Jam.... All About Rocks

Rocks....
As a kid I collected rocks-
Fingering the smooth shapes

Stuffing them into my pocket-
Taking them home to treasure

Putting them into a glass jar of water-
Or lining them up on the window sill

Not knowing that in the future-
I'd find my perfect rock
A diamond in the rough......

My sweetheart-
My forever life partner.

Thanks to Peggy for this weeks Poetry Jam

Don't throw 'em - enjoy them!

I love the metaphors here and I LOVE that first pic of the leaves reflecting on the rock's surface. You two look like a happy couple :)

That was really sweet! I think that first rock might be a little too big for your pocket though.

I'm so glad that you found your life partner. I did also but I think we're in the minority. Just lucky, I guess.

Beautiful Kathy. I loved to collect rocks when I was a kid too--I even tried for a while to learn the names of different kinds and how to identify them (I think I gave up on that). And your forever rock--wonderful. I feel lucky to have one of those too.

Rocking it all up, Kathe. Being solid rocks sustain longer. And the endearing one sustains the most. Nicely!

What great photos... especially the last one of you both... you look like a perfect match! I'm delighted that you found your diamond, just as I have mine; it's a wonderful surprise to discover that you've chosen the very best! This sweet post left me smiling!
