There is always something to do!

What began as this in December.....

Timber!!

Is now firewood for the winter!
Our great friends who just live up
the road brought their log splitter
up yesterday and between Russell, Bill and
Ewana short work was made
of that huge tree!
We ended up with about 4 cords of wood.
We shared half with Bill and Ewana.
Thanks to them the job was made so easy!
Nothing  better than neighbors helping neighbors!

  2. No need to buy it when you can grow and cut it yourself!

  3. You've earned your heat, too!

  4. Were you in need of firewood or was there something diseased with this tree that required it to be cut down?

  5. Good question Stephen-
we had to cut it down as it was leaning precariously over our driveway and we knew at some point (because of how the roots were being pulled up) that it would come down on it's own...and perhaps at not a really convenient moment ( heavy snowfall....)
We also can use the firewood in our woodstoves.

  6. That should be seasoned and ready when winter comes along later to keep you nice and cozy!

  7. Wow that hard work paid off with quite a heap of wood!! I love the smell of firewood after it's chopped. I haven't experienced that smell in years.

I love comments and will attempt to reply to each one. However, lately I have been getting "Unknown" comments that are linked to some sort of web page. I will never open this sort of comment and will immediately mark as spam. I am not interested in opening something that could be detrimental to my blog security etc. Never have enjoyed hackers!
