Magpietales #150

Slip silently
Escape into the darkest night
Freedom awaits

Closing in
Heavy footsteps are chasing
Hold your breath

Branches tear
Unsteady legs keep running
Not far now

Dawn arises
Crossing safely to the border
You are free

~~~~~~~~~~~~
I wrote this for all of the women in this world who do not have personal freedoms-
 or fear for their personal safety such as that poor woman in India.
  2. funny...my first thought on seeing this is that it would make for a great cover of a vampire book...and your poem captures that a bit without going there...
  3. Brian-
    I know- my take was so immediate thinking of all the women in this world who do not have a safe country to live in - like that poor woman in India- but a vampire...hmmm now that would have been interesting....and most others posts are being so sexy and romantic...what can I say! Thanks for visiting! Cheers.
  9. Love the poem, even though I can't decide if the woman in the picture is confined or if she just needs to be-- she looks kinda scary.
  10. You captured the drama the picture so beautifully expresses. We've all decided upon our own dramas but your fits the bill so well and is so pertinent.
  11. Thanks for the reminder. It is true, many are trapped in their existance. Blessed we are to think of love and romance when to others , perhaps only fear and intimidation are the order of the day.
  23. Yes. She reminded me of a 'woman for sale' along the streets to well known tourists spots abroad.
  24. You captured the prompt so very well. We tend to forget how many women are living in captivity both mentally and physically. A really good write.
