Magpie Tales #137

It Must Be Time For Lunch Now, 1979, by Francesca Woodman

If I had three wishes
Or a life to re-live
I'd be in Italy
Rewinding my Leica
Filming a happier end

Squirrel Chatter

"Hey! Don't bother me- I'm busy!"
"Hey! Step away from the acorns.
Mine, mine, all mine."
"Hy-knt tkl rht aw"
Translation of acorn stuffed mouth:
"Hey- can't talk right now."

Magpie #136 Washday Blues

Flying Down, 2006, by David Salle

My impatient fingers are  tapping
I'm so bored watching laundry get done
It's like hearing one hand clapping
But  I need to cover my bum!

Remember March of 2011 ?

On March 27 2011 I  completed two baby quilts
for twin sons born to some friends of ours.

I just got the latest photo of the family and just have to share it.
They are so darn cute!
Co-incidently the father is part of the Sassparilla Band
that is releasing it's newest CD this weekend in Eugene and Portland Oregon!
Go see them if you can-
They are fabulous! Here's that link:

Go Do Be!

Eric Alder's Tuesday Photo Prompt 9-18-2012

I'd rather
Find buried irony
Than be ironing
I'd rather
Dig in my garden
Than shovel out a barn
I'd rather
Cook our dinner
Than be cooked
I'd rather
Read a book
Than be booked.

Magpie #135- Venus and the Sailor

Venus and The Sailor, 1925, by Salvador Dali

Gliding across the ice
and being oh so nice
Venus hissed in his ear
Dahling, you belong on the equator
 You're just not a skater
So far you've tripped me up twice

I'm in a pickle or is it a jam?

I'm not in a pickle nor in a jam
I'm happy in the kitchen
Making food ...yes I am!

Go here to see some delights!

MagpieTales #133 Garden Spirits

Summer Night, 1913, by Albert Bloch

Sometimes I think there's trouble in my garden-
Not little Peter Wabbit or Sammy the Slug
Or even an enormous potato bug
Excuse me-I do beg your pardon
But something is chomping up my garden!
I've fenced with chcken wire
I've spritzed with soap
I even tried chili powder
With zero results!
I'm imagining a small Irish green elf
Who is chortling and laughing all to himself
You see he's the one who's the guilty party
He's inviting them all to come and eat hearty!
He's lifting the wire
Brushing off the powder
He's hosing off  the soap
and thinks I'm a dope!
Well, HAH I'll get even-just wait for winter
He'll be pressing his nose to the icy window
Asking oh please do let me in I'm cold you know
So- I'll make a deal and listen to his wishes
He'll get dinner but will have to do the dishes!

I really don't know where this came from,
but if you want to read other's take on the image
