Missing Link-Magpie #109

image: Robert and Shana ParkeHarrison

Somehow this inventor just doesn't think
That this is how his zippers should link
Trying as hard as he might
These gears just aren't meshing right
Perhaps I need to use a new device
With teeth chomping up so very nice
Else they will be returned in a sack
In care of me- Mr Gideon Sundback

Ah! Gideon Soundbank, the man who changed the world!
But remember the song... "all dressed up in buttons and bows"?
Now it should read: "All dressed up in zippers and velcro." Mmmm... seems to have lost something in translation.

I love the fashions today with the visible zippers everywhere ... he could not have imagined this! Love your Mag, I looked at the photo early this morning and thought 'the invisible link' .. great minds? I'm stumped so far.

Hah! I followed the link and was delightedly informed! Thank you.

(It is an icky day in the Willamette Valley this first day of spring. But the Oregon Juncos are feasting so heavily I know they know it is nearing time for them to go to their summer place--wherever that is...)

Can these zipper secrets be sent to the people in China who make garments with zippers without durability? I enjoyed your poem and the rhythm worked really well. Thanks, Kathe.
