What we did on our Spring Break!

What's a person to do if it's cold and snowy outside........

The baby quilt going to France is in the mail...........

You have played at the Children's Museum with your nephews.....

Well then, it's time to head out to two of the new brewpubs in Portland

First stop is HUB (Hopworks Urban Brewery) on
2944 SE Powell. ( http://www.hopworksbeer.com/ )
We taste samples of all their ales before settling on the delicious Organic IPA......

and tasty grilled cheeseburgers with real potato fries! You can also get house made potato chips....yummy

Then it's off to the Green Dragon on 928 SE 9th north of SE Hawthorne. ( http://pdxgreendragon.com/ )
Again we determine that we'll sample an IPA. Great way to round out our Spring Break week!

Looking down the long bar at the Green Dragon....

Easter Weekend with the Jones'

Randy and Sheryl came down from Washington
for Easter weekend-no better excuse for...
a potluck supper at Barbara's!
Here's Randy.....

Debbie and Jonathan...
now there is a boy with an appetite!

I made a plateful of gingerbread cookies
in the shape of carrots and only one is left...

Bob and Cadence-
Cadence is such a cutie!

It just wouldn't be a Jones'
gathering without the bunny ears shot!
Or another self-portrait taken by Russell..

Dr Jones had a great time-
we are so entertaining!

Killdeer and their nests

Every year I am amazed at how Killdeer will locate their nests amid all the humanoid action that goes on in a community garden. Here is a shot of a nest next to my garden plot......it really does blends in as do the eggs.

Read attached URL for even more info on these interesting birds.

I've been around the Horn and now I'm back!

Russell and I just returned from an incredible trip. We went on our first ever cruise from Santiago, Chile to Rio de Janiero, Brazil. It took 16 days and we saw places we would never have seen had we not been on this trip.

We traveled with 13 friends and had a great time. Everyone got along and other than a few days of bad weather, the seas were calm and the sun was shining. Even in the Falklands the weather was unusually nice. Some of our group were disappointed as we rounded the Horn and the sea was like glass.

I am posting this photo only from our trip as we have a blog. This photo represents what I most wanted to see- the far reaches of the world in a surreal landscape....seeing the Chilean fiords and channels made our trip absolutely brilliant and stellar for me. I will never forget those days.

and I also have a lot of photos posted on my flickr site

You can go to this blog and read all about our adventures. It truly was a trip of a lifetime.
