Malia mama mia!

Yesterday we celebrated Malia's 4th pregnancy and soon to be born baby with a
"Mommy Party". Granted, there were a few baby gifts, but mostly we showered Malia with love and attention. We laughed, ate, and painted on little rocks brought from Hawaii. Our focus was to paint encouraging images and words for the up coming labor and delivery. We all had a good time and I think we sent Malia home with lots of good wishes and cheer. Not to mention an abalone shell full of lovely rocks!
Here are a few images...

Finally finished!

A year ago I learned how to make cast concrete leaves. I made a lot of them, gave all of them away as gifts and satisfied myself with learning a new process.

However, I did not finish one HUGE leaf until just two days ago. For the longest time I did not know how I wanted to paint it....so here it is finally.....I think I'll keep this one!!

Russell's tile project

Russell started with 5 pounds of clay- and will end up with a 12'x 3' ceramic tile installation for his cousin Janice.....

Russell hand painting/glazing each tile.
Hours and hours go into this project...

Now he waits for it to completely dry before firing it....I will post more pictures after it has been fired and again when it's finally installed in the summer of 2007
